Mass Extraction technology consists of measuring the quantity of gas extracted from a sealed test part placed inside a controlled vacuum environment. When the part contains a leak, gas migrates from the internal volume toward the vacuum chamber. The MD-490M continuously extracts and measures this gas flow with high precision.
The test cycle operates as follows:
- The test part is placed inside a high-vacuum chamber
- The chamber is evacuated to a controlled vacuum level
- Gas escaping through leaks is extracted by the vacuum system
- The extracted mass is continuously measured
- The measured extraction flow directly corresponds to the leak rate
Mass Extraction combines vacuum technology, precision measurement, and industrial efficiency for next-generation leak testing.
He-490M is based on the principle of controlled gas extraction under vacuum conditions. At equilibrium, the extracted gas flow corresponds directly to the leakage escaping from the part.
This enables a direct physical measurement of leakage without relying on pressure decay interpretation.
- Direct leak measurement under vacuum
- Excellent sensitivity for micro-leak detection
- High repeatability and stability
- Optimized for vacuum chamber applications
- Reduced influence of thermal effects
- Fast cycle times for industrial production
- Robust architecture for demanding environments
| Technology | Principle | He-490M Advantage |
| Pressure Decay | Pressure variation | Higher sensitivity under vacuum |
| Mass Flow | Compensation flow | Improved micro-leak extraction |
| Helium Testing | Tracer gas | Simplified industrial integration |
